  • Great Decisions Discussion Group
    Friday, July 8 at 10:30 a.m.

    Join with other community members at the library for lively and informative discussions on the major global issues of our time. Meetings center on topics outlined in the Great Decisions briefing book provided by the Foreign Policy Association. Facilitator for the meetings, John Randazzo has led Great Decisions discussion groups since 2016, both in Maine and Florida.

  • ​Sustainable Lobstering in Maine (Zoom and In-person)
    Tuesday, July 12 at 6:30 p.m.

    Come learn about the early history of the lobster industry and discuss the techniques and economic significance of lobstering in Maine today. We will also take a closer look at the lobster’s anatomy and life cycle.

We will send you a few questions to answer, then tune in to Facebook Live on Wednesday night to watch our Pet Awards Show!

Summer Reading Sign-Up

Kids ages 3 to entering fourth grade are invited to register online or in person, and then receive a bag with prizes and instructions on how to participate. Prizes earned weekly and events happening all summer!
Tweens and teens entering fifth through twelfth grade are also invited to register online or in person and earn entries for our weekly raffle drawing.

We are now a Fine-Free Library!

The Wells Public Library is happy to announce that overdue fines will no longer be charged. Items will still have a due date and should be renewed if you wish to keep them longer, but there will be no fine if you return it past its due date.

If an item is more than four weeks overdue, a replacement cost will be charged to the patron’s account. However, if the item is returned in good condition, that charge will be waived.

We hope that this will make the library an even more enjoyable experience for all!

Room Rental

Did you know our Meeting Room and Community Program Room are available to rent for all of your programming needs? Cost is $25 an hour for the Meeting Room and $50 an hour for the Community Program Room. Available to book for parties, events, conferences, meetings, etc.

The Meeting Room seats up to 25 people and can be used during open hours. The Community Program Room seats over 80 people and is available even when the library is closed! Call for more information or to book the room, or use our online booking site.
