The Friends of the Wells Public Library will hold their annual Craft Show at Wells Elementary School (Sanford Rd/ Route 109 – west of Town Hall), on Saturday, October 6, 10:00 – 4:00, and on Sunday, October 7, 10:00 – 3:00.  Free admission and parking.  Proceeds support library programming.  FMI:

Brief History of the Friends of the Wells Public Library 
The Friends of the Wells Public Library group has been in existence since the library was built, starting with five women from Wells, and steadily increasing to its present membership of 120 men and women.

In 1980 the Friends became incorporated and the Constitution and bylaws were approved by the State of Maine. They are members of the Friends of the Library USA (FOLUSA), and Friends of Maine Libraries (FoML.)

The Friends of the Wells Public Library has raised over $135,000 for the Library since 1979. 

Friends of the Wells Public Library Today
The Friends of the Wells Public Library is a support organization which is made up of members of the community who wish to support the library and its services.  In addition, many members of the Friends are volunteers who assist  in library operations.The services and programs that the Friends support include: In addition to their membership dues, the following fundraising activities are sponsored by the Friends in support of the library: the Annual Craft Show in October, the Annual Book Sale in August, and the Ongoing Book Sale.  
The Friends meet at the library on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:15 a.m. This vital group always welcomes new members. Applications to join the Friends are available at the library.
